Who we are
About Epsom Equestrian Centre
Equus Equestrian Centre was founded in 1989 by David Anderson on historic land first recorded in the Domesday Book. David, a passionate equestrian and accomplished polo player, established the centre after winning the tender to build on Horton Country Park’s beautiful grounds in Epsom. His vision brought to life one of Europe’s largest indoor riding arenas, offering a premier space for equestrian activities all year round.
David’s love for horses was inspired by his father, a high-ranking army officer, and he’s passed this passion on to his four sons, who continue his legacy today. Together, they’ve cultivated a welcoming, family-oriented environment for riders of all ages and skill levels, just a short journey from London.
A Hub for Riding and Polo
Equus Equestrian Centre provides both indoor and outdoor riding facilities and is surrounded by scenic trails in Horton Country Park and Epsom Common, with views not far from the renowned Epsom Racecourse. The Riding School offers tailored riding lessons, guided hacks, and educational programs, while polo enthusiasts can enjoy year-round polo instruction, tournaments, and friendly matches.

Today, David’s four sons continue to run the club, providing personalised riding and polo lessons for all levels. Equus Equestrian Centre offers reliable, safe rental ponies. Embrace the joy of riding within a supportive, family-friendly environment.
